About the Forster Research Group
At Forster Research Group, we combine our expertise in sensor technologies and bipolar electrochemistry to drive groundbreaking solutions for tomorrow’s challenges.
Who We Are

We are the Forster Research Group at Dublin City University, led by Prof. Robert Forster. We design electrochemical sensors and smart materials for health and environmental monitoring.

Electrochemical Biosensing
We build point-of-care assays to read DNA/microRNA signatures of cancer, sepsis, and epilepsy for earlier, faster diagnosis.

Wireless Electrochemistry
Using bipolar electrochemistry we fabricate wireless sensing assays and 3D electroceuticals that couple diagnosis with therapy.

Materials
From polymers to thin films, we develop biodegradable, biocompatible materials that enhance device function.
Funding Agencies
Our research at Forster Research Group is made possible through our funding partners – Research Ireland, FutureNeuro, Maria Skłodowska-Curie Actions, ECLectic network, STRIM network, Irish Research Council, and NeuroAdapt.
